Welcome to Yeronga RSL
There’s no better feeling than living a secure and comfortable life with a sense of purpose. Unfortunately, veterans often face barriers to that life because of wounds, injuries and illness received in service to the nation.
That’s why Yeronga RSL is committed to do whatever it takes to support veterans and other ex-military personnel in need following their service. Putting people first, we focus on achieving our vision of a healthy, active and satisfying life for all.
Although independently funded and self-governed, we’ve been part of the RSL network since 1934. We continue this tradition, but regularly update our role and organisation to support contemporary veteran life.
About Us
Yeronga RSL is an independent charitable organisation serving the veteran and ex-service community. We are governed by an elected not-for-profit board of management, and operate from offices at 391 Fairfield Road, Yeronga on Brisbane’s Southside.
We focus on the delivery of human services to the veteran and ex-service community. This work is independently funded by donations from our members, Club Yeronga and the wider community.
Historically, our work has been serving the needs of older veterans through a combination of socialisation and compensation advocacy. More recently, the creation of a large group of younger veterans since the 1990s has led to a demand for crisis and trauma support to younger veterans in the community. We serve all cohorts, however most of our time and funding is now directed towards younger ex-members of the Australian Defence Force veterans.
Yeronga RSL achieves this balance between historical and contemporary demands through five complementary programs:
RSL membership is not a prerequisite for assistance.
We will assist anyone who has been a member of the Australian Defence Force.
Our Services

As we get older, things change. As our lives change, we may need help making those necessary changes, finding different activities that bring joy, or even arranging our affairs to protect ourselves.
The Yeronga RSL has a volunteer led support program to assist older veterans live their best life in whatever circumstances they find themselves. Our volunteer support workers have regular contact with veterans over 80 years of age, assisting them to remain independent and happy as they age.
We will assist you to be well and as independent as possible in:
Staying well & positive
Staying connected with others & the community
Feeling safe
Being treated with dignity
Looking after yourself
Managing money and personal administration
Many of our veterans have already taken to this program with gusto. Give it a go, even if it’s just to regularly meet people like yourself or talk things over.

Yeronga RSL is dedicated to supporting veterans and their families, operating as a community service grounded in compassion and benevolence.
Our work is driven by a commitment to relieving suffering, which we see as our most vital role.
While our primary focus is on veterans from recent conflicts, we offer assistance to veterans of all generations.
The majority of our resources are devoted to addressing the root causes of distress and providing relief. We support veterans in the following ways:
Maintaining physical and mental health
Residing in safe and supportive environments
Preventing physical, emotional, or financial abuse
Encouraging social connection and engagement
Helping to resolve crisis situations and trauma
At Yeronga RSL, we are proud to serve as a compassionate resource for veterans, ensuring they receive the care, support, and community they deserve.

Lest we forget. A phrase that captures our unwavering commitment to honouring the memory of the over 100,000 Australians who have given their lives in war.
We also recognise the bravery and sacrifice of those who have served in military, peacekeeping, and humanitarian operations. Their courage, too, is deeply honoured in the land they fought to protect.
We also remember those whose lives were cut short or forever altered by the effects of war, as well as the families whose lives were changed in ways that can never be undone.
Our commemoration and remembrance efforts are visible in the following ways:
ANZAC Day commemorative services in Dutton Park, Tarragindi and Tennyson.
Digital Memorial Wall within Club Yeronga, providing reflection on Australia’s official days of commemoration.
A Veteran’s Walk along Kadumba Stret, commemorating each Australian military conflict.
Flame of Remembrance displayed and illumintted inside the Club as a constant symbol of Remembrance.
Ode of Remembrance on days of special significance.
At Yeronga RSL, our commitment to remembrance is a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made, ensuring their legacy continues for generations to come.

Regular socialisation is essential for enhancing quality of life. It helps keep the mind sharp, combats feelings of isolation, and may even reduce cognitive decline.
At Yeronga RSL, our friendship and social groups provide the perfect opportunity to connect and engage. Our monthly lunches, weekly age-appropriate exercise classes, and special day excursions to various South-East Queensland locations are designed to promote both physical and emotional wellbeing.
Our events have a positive impact on your overall health, fostering social connections that encourage regular exercise, healthy eating, and an optimistic outlook. The friendships formed through Yeronga RSL offer valuable support, empathy, and advice, providing a strong network to navigate life's challenges.
Why not join us for lunch on the first Monday of each month? It’s completely complimentary and no bookings are necessary.

The Yeronga RSL is home to a collection of over 1,000 military history books and 40 items of memorabilia, showcasing Australia's post-military heritage.
Our library and collection promote the preservation of Australian history and military heritage, provide educational resources for students and teachers, serve as a community hub for history enthusiasts, and ensure the careful management and preservation of all items.
We continue to expand our collection, particularly items related to Australia's involvement in conflicts from the First Gulf War to the Afghanistan War.
We encourage the borrowing of books and memorabilia by individuals, schools, and community groups.
